Steve Broadbent: A Life of Leadership & Legacy

from Lure of the Lake

Welcome to today’s show! I’m excited for you to meet my guest today! Steve Broadbent has led an interesting life! With a degree in Nuclear Engineering, you would have expected a career in that direction. But Steve found a different path, that included 22 years in the US Navy, in both active and reserve, retiring as a Commander! By chance, and some good luck, Steve found himself working in President George H.W. Bush’s campaign and was ultimately appointed by the President as Deputy Assistant Secretary at the Department of the Treasury. After, and during, a long and successful corporate career, Steve served on the Johns Creek City Counsel and served on Fulton County Development Authority for several years. He was also appointed by Governor Kemp to the Board for the Georgia Department of Community Affairs, where he continues to serve today. We will talk about these accomplishments in more detail, and of course, what lured he and his wife Mary to the lake. And continuing a life of service to his country and community, we will talk about what lured him to run for local public office in Greene County, as a Republican candidate for County Commissioner in District 4.
