Steve Schirripa: They Reshuffle the Cards Every Morning

from 10,000 NOs · host Matthew Del Negro

You probably know Steve as Bobby 'Baccala' Baccalieri from the Sopranos, or maybe you know him from his current role on Blue Bloods, but he is so much more than just an actor. Born and raised in a low-income household in Brooklyn, he eventually played collegiate basketball and graduated from Brooklyn College. He headed to Vegas and began working in night clubs where he met a multitude of comics and celebrities and was eventually bitten by the acting bug himself, much later than most. What you'll hear throughout our conversation is the extreme hustle and lack of ego that accompanied Steve's very quick rise to fame on The Sopranos. Even while remaining gainfully employed as an actor, he has always kept a side hustle, producing, pitching and creating shows as well as writing a best-selling books and co-hosting one of the most successful podcasts around, Talking Sopranos. His longtime marriage and successful raising of his daughters still remains his most proud accomplishment. It is not the critic who counts. If you’ve been knocked down... get up, dust yourself off, and get back in the arena.
