Steven Barber - Sally Ride Sculpture Monument

We chat about his latest creation, the Sally Ride Sculpture Monument, making its debut June 17th at the Cradle of Aviation Museum in Long Island, New York. Sally Ride is an important LGBTQ+ historical icon, as she's the first American woman to fly in space as part of the Challenger space shuttle program. She kept her personal life private throughout her years, coming out officially only after her death in 2012. Steven has an amazing history, both as a filmmaker and documentarian, and a visionary for bronze sculptures that have commemorated the Apollo 11, 13 and 14 space missions.
