Is all power inherently evil and corrupting? Does that fact that I possess certain gifts or opportunities in life automatically rob someone else of having those gifts? How do we react to the reality of inequality in our world? One of the key assumptions that powers your answers to these questions is how you see the world. Either the world is created by a good, infinite and powerful God, or the world is the result of blind forces. If God is the King of kings, then all questions of power and authority must be measured against the standard of his ultimate power. If God is the giver of all gifts, then all that we have must be seen as a gift from him, which we must steward properly. But if there is no God, then there are no gifts, no real authorities - and all power and privilege is abusive and dangerous. This week on the podcast we dig down into some of these thorny issues and share some thoughts on how we as christians can think through them more effectively and clearly.
