Stewards not Owners

from 828 Church · host Ron Barnard

We’re so glad you are here! Thanks for checking out Sunday's message!-- SUNDAY'S NOTES --Money isn’t a small thing, it’s a huge thing, but it’s certainly not the main thing. For this reason, since the day we heard this, we haven’t stopped praying for you. We are asking that you may be filled with the knowledge of his will in all wisdom and spiritual understanding, so that you may walk worthy of the Lord, fully pleasing to him: bearing fruit in every good work and growing in the knowledge of God, being strengthened with all power, according to his glorious might, so that you may have great endurance and patience, joyfully giving thanks to the Father, who has enabled you to share in the saints’ inheritance in the light. Colossians 1:9-12 CSB Strong spiritual roots, rightly cared for, will produce miraculously Godly fruit. When you produce much fruit, you are my true disciples. This brings great glory to my Father. John 15:8 NLTThe LORD God placed the man in the Garden of Eden to tend and watch over it. Genesis 2:15 NLTThis is how one should regard us, as servants of Christ and stewards of the mysteries of God. Moreover, it is required of stewards that they be found faithful. 1 Corinthians 4:1-2 ESVGod has entrusted each of us with gifts, grace, and blessings we are privileged to steward for Him.The point is this: whoever sows sparingly will also reap sparingly, and whoever sows bountifully will also reap bountifully. Each one must give as he has decided in his heart, not reluctantly or under compulsion, for God loves a cheerful giver. 2 Corinthians 9:6-7 ESVHonor God’s heart by guarding yours. Stewards not OwnersIt’s all His, and we’re all His! The earth and everything in it, the world and its inhabitants, belong to the LORD. Psalm 24:1 CSBOwners are lost in an attitude of me-centric living, while stewards are surrendered to the sovereign right and will of God to lead, decide and direct. For this is how God loved the world: He gave his one and only Son, so that everyone who believes in him will not perish but have eternal life. John 3:16 NLTOur call to give our best comes from the God who gave his best. We know what real love is because Jesus gave up his life for us. So we also ought to give up our lives for our brothers and sisters. 1 John 3:16 NLTStewardship verses Ownership almost always comes down to who you love and trust most. But if anyone has the world's goods and sees his brother in need, yet closes his heart against him, how does God's love abide in him? 1 John 3:17 ESVBe hospitable to one another without complaining. Just as each one has received a gift, use it to serve others, as good stewards of the varied grace of God. If anyone speaks, let it be as one who speaks God’s words; if anyone serves, let it be from the strength God provides, so that God may be glorified through Jesus Christ in everything. To him be the glory and the power forever and ever. Amen. 1 Peter 4:9-11 CSBIt is an incredible honor and blessing to give and live, to steward everything we are and have for God. -------------------------------------------------Download the 828 Church app!To view our latest e-newsletter, the Midweek Momentum, and subscribe to our weekly updates, go here! https://linktr.ee/828church
