The Strait Times from the 10th of July, 1925 contained the following report: “Perhaps the most remarkable story in connection with the loss of the Ban Lee Guan off Pulau Pisang on Monday night is that of a Malay woman and her ten months old child, who were rescued after clinging to a wooden raft for eighteen hours.
