Still Waters

Aversion to Running Water: Sheep instinctively avoid fast-flowing streams because they can easily lose their balance and be swept away. They are often so fearful of moving water that they may refuse to drink from it even if they are dangerously thirsty, preferring still or "calm" water sources. Sensitivity to Loud Noises: As prey animals with excellent hearing, sheep are easily spooked by sudden or loud sounds. The roar of rushing water can trigger their flight response, making them nervous and difficult to handle.
