"Stillness" by Pam Lee-Miller
from Bluegrass United Church of Christ · host Bluegrass United Church of Christ
The law of the First Testament provided a framework and a standard for the people of God to live by. The intention of the law was to keep the people safe and reliant on their god. The law was also their religion, and we know that religion can put you in and keep you in a box. Today, Pam reminds us of the story of King Ahab, his wife Jezebel, and the Prophet Elijah. These characters ended up being the main players in a fascinating story of fear, pain, and loneliness. It was only when the prophet found himself in a place of quiet and stillness that he was able to hear God and feel God's assurance.
