Christopher Macbride is the director of a new a feature film entitled The Conspiracy that uses a strong blend of fiction and allegory to explore the issue of illusory democracy. The film is a fictional thriller, but Macbride explains he's gone to great lengths to incorporate real world issues that never seem to make it into the mainstream. Then, investigative reporter and author Greg Palast talks about his year-long investigation which revealed a systematic program of "GOP vote tampering" on a massive scale. Among his many findings: In 2008, no fewer than 2,706,275 ballots were castand never counted. And, in 2008, no fewer than 3,195,539 legal voters were denied the right to vote. Thats at least 5,901,814 legitimate votes and voters tossed out of the count. Over 22 million names were purged from voter rolls in the last two years.
