Stop Behaving as the Old Man

Today, Bishop continues the "STOP" series on the topic of unforgiveness from Ephesians 4:31-32. We, believers, are a part of the body of Christ and it is vital that what comes out of our month match our new wardrobe. This means foul language, bitterness, anger, wrath, shouting and slander should not come from a mouth which is used to praise God. Unforgiveness is the root source of many of our physical, emotional, psychological, and spiritual problems. The term bitterness means "the settled disposition resentfulness it reflects a smoldering resentment." This spirit refuses reconciliation. Bishop defines each behavior which Christians must put away in Ephesians 4:31. The act of forgiveness is not merely dismissing something out of mind, or trying to forget it or overlook it. No matter what the person has done to us, we need to remember Christ, who knew no sin, died for all of our sins. We must show the same type of forgiveness. True forgiveness meant that even if in our own humanity we cannot completely forget the actions and effects that someone caused, we can forgive the sin itself. As you listen to this powerful message, reflect on your past and present relationships, please allow the Lord to show you any unforgiveness in your life.
