Stop. Eating. The. Fruit.

The beginning of humankind is fascinating to study. The creation account, the fall of man, and the start of the story of human history can offer a lot of good conversation, but we can't forget that these are more than stories. These are texts meant to give us understanding about God, His plan, and ourselves. When you read about Eve taking the fruit from the tree of the knowledge of good and evil, do you read it as a narrative story, or do you study it as a person trying to glean what they can from scripture? Do you read that mankind gets cut off from the Garden of Eden and come to the conclusion that it was an isolated incident, or do you recognize that we have that fruit before us all the time and Satan's influence always tempting us to eat of it? In this episode we take a look at what sin was committed in that Garden, so that we can be on guard against that same sin that might also be presented to us at some point in our lives.
