Your good friend comes to you and has a real problem. They say they need your advice. You get all excited because you’re about to drop some serious wisdom on your good friend.You feel smart, valued, wanted, and dare I say, even superior?So your good friend begins to tell you of their problem and you, being the wonderful active listener that you are, nod your head, sprinkle in those words that let them know (or at least think) you are listening – uh huh, yeah, right, I hear you, go on.And you are getting so excited because you have the perfect advice already. You just know you’re going to make this person so happy they asked you for your sage wisdom, because you are about to fix everything for them.But wait! Hold up!
