Stop, Listen and Breathe into Mental Wellness with Senda Baccar (S3, E6)

from Not As Crazy As You Think Podcast · host Jen Gaita Siciliano

In the episode, "Stop, Listen and Breathe  into Mental Wellness with  Senda Baccar (S3, E6),"  spiritual healer and intuitive coach from Tunisia in North Africa, Senda Bacaar, visits the show to discuss her lived experience with Western psychiatry, which has pushed its philosophy into now global influence. As a biologist, Senda was disillusioned with the mental health system when she saw their conviction was only in the biomedical theory, suggesting we are nothing more than cells and tissue with no spirit. When she was seeking treatment for her own state of mental distress, she discovered breathwork, reiki, shamanism, plant medicine, gardening, intuitive dance, and a number of other healing modalities that changed her life and her understanding of what creates true mental health. After going through the “dark night of the soul” Senda advocates that we can all get on the other side of that, if we learn to balance our energy and take a minute to stop and listen to why we are feeling distressing emotions. Through alternative options, Senda discovered sources that were far more healing than simply getting a prescription medication for “mental illness.”  #breathwork #reiki #energyhealing #biomedicalmodel #westernpsychiatry #bigpharmaharms #mentalhealth #alternativehealing #plantmedicine #bipolarshaman #bipolarartist #psychiatryisnotscience #abolishpsychiatry #shamanism #mentalwellnessPlease visit my website at: http://www.jengaitasiciliano.comDon't forget to subscribe to the Not As Crazy As You Think YouTube channel @SicilianoJenConnect:Instagram: @jengaitaLinkedIn: @jensicilianoTwitter: @jsicilianoSend us Fan MailSupport the show
