While it’s not a core part of my professional toolkit, I’ve found it to be a fascinating resource for personal reflection. I don’t see it as a prediction, but as an invitation for deeper consideration—particularly of the ways we’re all wired differently. It highlights things we rarely pause to notice: how we make decisions, whether we need routine or variety, or how some of us literally need to speak to hear what we think. It’s a helpful reminder that our preferences and patterns aren’t always shared—and recognising those differences can open the door to greater self-awareness, self-trust, and compassion for others too.If this episode resonated, please leave a review, subscribe or share it with a friend. You’ll get more insights and subtle mindset shifts that help you move forward with greater clarity, ease, and alignment. Often it’s the smallest breadcrumbs that lead to the biggest breakthroughs.

The move towards more renewables in our energy systems complicates matters even further, requiring the development of an integrated power grid and continuous and steady transformation of the UK power system. Network flows must be managed reliably under uncertain demands, uncertain supply, emerging network technologies and possible failures and, further, prices in related markets can be highly volatile. Mathematicians working with engineers and economists, can make significant contributions to address such issues, by helping to develop fit-for-purpose models for next generation energy systems. These interdisciplinary approaches are looking to address a range of associated problems, including modelling, prediction, simulation, control, market and mechanism design and optimisation.
