Stop to Thermal Cars: European and Italian Perspectives

A recent European survey by Autoscout24 explored public opinion on the planned EU ban on internal combustion engine cars starting in 2035. The findings reveal widespread opposition in several countries, with Austria leading the resistance, and persistent skepticism about the efficiency and environmental impact of electric vehicles, particularly among those over 35.In Italy, there is a notably low inclination to purchase electric vehicles, both new and used, due to high costs and doubts about their efficiency compared to traditional cars. While electric technology is recognized as superior, many Italians still consider internal combustion vehicles more practical, with significant doubts about the lower carbon footprint of EVs. Concerns over incentives and the high price of EVs remain major barriers to adoption, despite improvements in charging infrastructure and the introduction of more affordable models.
