Store Owner Stabbed, Survives By Luck | Calgary News

A video game store owner in Corner Brook survived a brutal stabbing after being attacked with a four-inch blade—five times, including neck and stomach—yet missed vital arteries. The assailant, 32-year-old Gregg Musakanda, allegedly had no robbery motive, aiming to kill. Payne fought back, escaped, and was saved by an ambulance that happened to be nearby grabbing popcorn. He’s now recovering with 15 stitches and internal injuries, back at work days later, stunned by the violence but grateful for community support. Musakanda is in custody, charged with multiple offenses, as police continue investigating the motive behind this shocking attack.
