Storm Eyeing Cal League Title | San Diego Padres News

The Lake Elsinore Storm are on the brink of a California League title, but a crushing 9-1 loss to San Jose — featuring a no-hitter by three pitchers — ends their three-game playoff streak. With Game 3 set for Wednesday in San Jose, first-round draft pick Kruz Schoolcraft is expected to start after Jesus A. Castro’s tough outing. The Storm’s lone run came from a slick double steal in the third. It’s their first shot at a Cal League crown since 2022 — and they’re hungry for it. Meanwhile, Triple-A El Paso crushed Oklahoma City 11-5, with Miguel Andujar contributing RBIs during his rehab stint and Ian Koenig delivering solid six-inning work.
