Well, hello, it's Tuesday and there's a hurricane coming Yeah, I mean it's already a hurricane and it's on its way. It's not coming here. Hopefully it's going to be to the as you're looking at the globe To the or the flat earth depending upon your beliefs. It's to the left You don't really believe in flatter stuff to please don't it's to the left of us and it's heading north and it's going to go into the north kind of where the curve is Part of Florida and it's supposed to hit the ground as a possibly category three Hurricane and what's to be grateful about that?
Well, I'll tell you what there is to be grateful about that Here's what I'm grateful for where everybody's pretty darn well prepared Our local law enforcement and rescue services all across the entire west coast of Florida are very prepared People who live here are very smart and we know when it's time to get the hell out of town I have a friend in Tampa, Florida, which is way south of where this thing is heading But the storm surge is going to come up Tampa Bay and she lives in Tampa Approximately a block away from Tampa Bay and that storm surge could raise that water level up to where it floods her house Very good possibility that that would happen. So she's prepared. She's like left. She's gone inland to relatives inland So that's pretty cool.
We're all prepared. We're already I've batten down the hatches at my house Today, I'm going to move my lawn furniture into my garage And that's all I need to do really because I can I've learned from living in Florida long enough not to have a lot of dangly stuff outside I just have learned that I've been through a lot of hurricanes and I've learned that and I'm grateful for that knowledge I'm grateful for the knowledge that I have To buy enough food that you don't have to cook because the only thing that really happens to us or has it in the past in the past What's happened to us when a year ago hurricane came through missed us But we were out of electricity for three days could not cook You know, I don't own a generator. I don't want to own a generator I don't like gas powered things that you know, you have to maintain and if you're a year between using it Is it really going to run? I just I'm ready for it to be you know no electricity.
I've got candles I've got really good flashlights. I got a whole bunch of batteries. I mean a bunch of batteries So I'm not going anywhere. So I have a lot of food that I don't have to cook.
I got a lot of bread I got a lot peanut butter. I got no just stuff like that. I have a lot of I don't have bottled water You know, they say make sure you have a lot of bottled water. I've lived in Florida since 1960 Forish then through a bunch of hurricanes never seen the water go out never heard of the water going out So but I do have a lot of other drinks.
Okay, I've got I've got I've got a but I've got a diet coke I got a bunch of stuff. So I'm never gonna go thirsty over that next couple of days and You know, so I think I think it's good I'm grateful that I know how to do this very very grateful I know how to do this and I'm very grateful that I pay attention to what the authorities tell me Because years ago I was in a position where I had a contract with our local county And I saw firsthand how they've got a whole setup an emergency setup in a room that is just sealed in and everything And I saw firsthand how these people keep track of everything I trust them and I'm grateful that I trust them So when you know something's coming be ready for it be grateful that you have the knowledge and things are going to get good This is a short version today because I got a lot of other things I got to get done today. So There's always something to be grateful for There truly is always something to be grateful for I'm Michael crows. This is the Daily Grateful This is your reminder that in the midst of anything look for something to be grateful for and when you find that little thing to be grateful for Find another little thing and little things kind of add up We keep adding these little things that you're grateful for and adds up and you find yourself in the midst of gratitude And you feel better and your tummy feels weird.
That's good That's a good thing because that's your body creating endorphins endorphins make you giddy and mean giddy is good Have a super day everyone
