Story Lines: Mountains, Part 1

from Bible Threads With Dr. Bruce Becker · host Dr. Bruce Becker, Time of Grace

There are 35 mountains named in the Bible, with almost all of them in the Old Testament. But the significance isn't on just the mountains themselves. Instead, it's what happened at these mountains that has great impact today. Dr. Bruce Becker examines 7 of these 35 mountains. In Part 1 of "Mountains," Dr. Becker looks at the first four mountains. We'll go all the way back to Genesis, and then find ourselves in the New Testament where the most famous sermon was delivered. Through this study of seeing big things happen on big mountains, we'll discover the intersection of the things of God and the things of this world. Part 2 of "Mountains" will drop on April 22! Dr. Becker mentioned Time of Grace video devotions that have also explored mountains. You can view them here: – A look at the life of Noah: https://bit.ly/3dDndnF – The Israelites in the wilderness. Pastor Mike was in Israel last year and recorded dozens of devotions there, including on the Mount of Beatitudes: timeofgrace.org/Israel About our podcast "Bible Threads With Dr. Bruce Becker": The Bible can be intimidating, right? There are 66 different books, more than 700,000 words, and all of it was written over a period of 1,600 years by dozens of different authors. How do we make sense of it all, and what does it mean for our lives? Amazingly, the Bible is incredibly interconnected with “threads” that run through it from beginning to end. In this podcast, Bible scholar and author Dr. Bruce Becker will uncover these threads, help you dig deeper into God’s truth, and inspire you to live your life with greater confidence and joy. Dr. Becker brings his vast experience to share with you through this podcast. He has served as the pastor of a mission start in New York State; lead pastor of a church in Brillion, Wisconsin; and a ministry coach to churches and schools.
