Storytime
from So What's The Sitch? Hosted by Kimi
Sooo what's the sitch with medical anxiety? “Everyone is walking a path you don’t know anything about or carrying things that you don’t see” In this ep I tell 3 stories from my life about fear as a tool, lasting words and medical anxiety: 1. Appendix, Ruptured 2. Miss Stupid saved a life 3. An Unprofessional Patient Join me as I let you in on my experience behind the closed doors of medical procedures and consultations to bring to light something that absolutely makes my blood boil - when trusted professionals use their power to make patients feel small. Thanks to my experience with the medical industry as a child and then later as a Pharmacist, I literally can’t stand when professionals in the medical field abuse their position, practise from ego and weaponise fear as a tool. I hope this episode helps you to feel empowered to speak up for yourself in any situation and particularly when it comes to your own mind, body, health and life. Doctors, Pharmacists, Dentists, Ultrasound Technicians - whoever it may be... no one has the power to govern your decisions besides you. TEASPILL: all about different types of medical anxiety, a few of the wild things doctors/trusted professionals have said to me as a child, patient and pharmacist, how racial prejudice, judgment and power-play has affected me while trying to get my health under control. Thank you for helping me get this off my chest! Keep in con @swtspodcast on Instagram for more BTS and whatever comes up! Peace out, look after yourself and see you next week for another debrief😊
