STP Interview: Megan Jackson Hall

from Mark MI words · host Mark Brosnan

Mental health UNDERSTANDING is better than awareness. My guest this week has written one of the most enlightening, confronting, and courageous book I’ve ever read. Faith, Romance, and Creations through Psychosis is an ‘access-all pass’ to the mind of a person living with schizoaffective disorder. Her book, more than others I have read has given me a real UNDERSTANDING of life with schizoaffective disorder. Her bravery shines through in this interview. Megan is a joy to talk to and I truly hope you enjoy our conversation. www.meganjacksonhall.ca I’d also like to thank Cristina Deptula from SBC Global Consulting for her assistance in arranging this interview. www.sbcglobalconsulting.com About Megan. Megan Jackson Hall has struggled with her mental health for decades. Her new book Faith, Romance, and Creations through Psychosis is her powerful memoir that delves into a range of personal topics. Megan Jackson Hall is a retired Catholic School teacher. She has a master's degree in curriculum and technology and has been part of the mental health system for twenty years, including three hospitalizations. She was first diagnosed as schizophrenic in 2005, but later had her diagnosis adjusted to schizoaffective disorder, which marries symptoms of a mood disorder with those of schizophrenia. She has been on a variety of medications, the escapades of which are recounted here. This is her second book. The first was My Colour-Coded Life: Living with Schizoaffective Disorder. She lives alone in North Delta, British Columbia, Canada and has two beautiful daughters. You can get details of how to purchase the books through her website: www.meganjacksonhall.ca
