Strahm Designated After Rough Season | Kansas City Royals News

The Royals shipped out Matt Strahm, their struggling lefty reliever, after a brutal season marked by a 7.32 ERA and 12 homers in just 35 innings — including a walk-off grand slam that derailed their momentum. With the bullpen’s collective ERA ranking as the second-worst in MLB, Strahm’s departure underscores deeper roster woes. Now on waivers with a potential path to free agency, he’s being replaced by Jose Cuas from Triple-A Omaha, signaling the Royals’ urgency to rebuild their bullpen before the trade deadline.
