Straight Outta Context Matters

One of the first eye opening things for me while being involved in the hyper Charismatic/ WOF/NAR movement was the twisting of Scripture. It is quite easy to do, and unfortunately, I was not immune from this practice. Taking verses straight out of context is easy to do, and it becomes easier when there is no accountability or testing taking place. Are there verses you may have been told meant one thing but when you go to look up that particular verse, you find the context in Scripture does not agree? Join me as we look at some verses and their proper context. You may be surprised by some of them, or it may confirm what you already knew from Bible study. Either way, the important lesson to learn is that we are to be students of the Word of God, and we are to understand the Bible in its proper context. Otherwise, we will be led astray.
