An incident characterized as "horseplay" resulted in a police officer being shot in the shoulder after three colleagues engaged in a mock shootout. The officer responsible for discharging the weapon has since been fired. Ultimately, this serves as a reminder that firearms are never toys, regardless of the user's professional background. The concept of "Gun Violence Month" is illogical. Inherently, a firearm is merely an inanimate object, incapable of violence on its own. Objects like hammers, soap, or grilled cheese sandwiches possess the same level of non-violence; it is people who are violent, not the objects they use.
