She has a bachelor’s degree in Public Relations and Music Business Management.Working in the underserved Bayview Hunter’s Point neighborhood in San Francisco, Armstrong is the Founder of the Primed & Prepped: A Hospitality Management/Culinary Arts Mentoring and Job Training Program at the Bayview Hunters Point YMCA. The purpose of the program is to help mitigate the barriers to employment for young males and females of color. Armstrong has previously served as a Board of Governors with the Recording Academy. She created and co-chaired the Urban Outreach Committee of the Recording Academy (a.k.a. The Grammys), was an inaugural member of KQED’s Community Advisory Panel, and Formerly chaired the PR Committee on San Francisco State University’s Hospitality Management Advisory Board. In addition, she has volunteered with The National Alliance for Mental Illness (NAMI). Armstrong is married, resides in San Francisco, and has a passion for food, fashion, and music.
