'Strained Relationship with Sister' & 'No R-E-S-P-E-C-T for Her Request' & 'Ashes to Ashes'
from Judge Mathis Podcast · host Telepictures
First, The plaintiff brings her sister to court, though they’ve always had a strained relationship. She says the defendant is addicted to drugs and struggled a lot. She loaned the defendant money to help her get on her feet, but she hasn’t repaid, so she’s suing for breach of contract. The defendant admits she needs to seek help for recovery. Then, The plaintiff loves Aretha Franklin and saw in her concert several times. She hired the defendant to paint one portrait of Aretha Franklin and another of Miles Davis. She claims the defendant never gave her the paintings, so she’s suing. The defendant argues the plaintiff constantly changed the terms of their agreement, so that’s why she never got the art. He’s countersuing for labor and materials. Plus, The plaintiff lived with the defendants. When she moved out, the defendants refused to return her personal belongings — including her mother’s ashes. She’s suing for unreturned property. The defendants argue the plaintiff and her witness bullied her. They say she still owes for rent, so they’re suing for unpaid rent and storage fees.
