STRATEGY UPDATE

from Capital Flows and Asset Markets · host Russell Clark

This is a free preview of a paid episode. To hear more, visit www.russell-clark.comYou are probably wondering why I think its exciting times? The potential bear market set up of the rise of Deepseek and Trump’s tariffs have come and gone, and the S&P 500 is back at new all time highs. Even the announcement of 15% tariffs on Japan and Europe are seen as bullish as the expectation was for more (to balance the budget they would need to be higher).I won’t lie, a bear market in the US would suit me from a fund raising point of view, but I always considered the possibility of the bull market continuing. I just wanted to construct a portfolio that would allow me to short, but still make me money. Like a put option that instead of paying a premium, you get paid a premium. So far, the portfolio has performed exactly like that. That is exciting. What is most exciting for me is that bearish signals are starting to appear everywhere.
