Strength in Weakness

We often think God can use us best when we are strong, capable, and confident. But in 2 Corinthians 12, Paul reveals a surprising truth: some of God’s greatest work in our lives happens through our weakness. Paul had experienced extraordinary spiritual privileges, yet God allowed him to endure a painful “thorn in the flesh” that kept him humble and dependent. When Paul repeatedly asked for it to be removed, God’s answer was, “My grace is sufficient for thee: for my strength is made perfect in weakness” (2 Corinthians 12:9). In this message, we discover how God uses weakness to humble us, deepen our dependence on Him, refine our character, increase our compassion, and display the power of Christ through our lives. Sometimes God changes our circumstances. Other times, He gives us the grace to walk through them.
