Strengthened in the Inner Man Through the Holy Spirit | 3650 Minutes of Prayer
from Psalms23Wave · host Mathew Sekanjako
This is Day Three of 3650 Minutes of Prayer. This episode begins with a focused exhortation on spiritual strength, reminding us that true strength does not come from circumstances improving, but from God strengthening the inner person. In Ephesians 3:16, the Apostle Paul prays that believers would be strengthened and spiritually energized with power through the Holy Spirit—not outwardly, but within the inner self. This strength is not human resolve or emotional effort, but divine reinforcement, granted by God out of the riches of His glory. These reflections lead us into prayer, inviting us to receive strength from the Spirit who dwells within us.Prayer & Reflection Scriptures (AMP)Ephesians 3:16May He grant you out of the riches of His glory, to be strengthened and spiritually energized with power through His Spirit in your inner self, [indwelling your innermost being and personality].Word Insight (Greek – Brief Reflection)The word translated “strengthened” comes from the Greek κραταιωθῆναι (krataiōthēnai), meaning to be made strong, reinforced, or firmly established from within. It is rooted in κράτος (kratos), a word used for ruling power, prevailing might, and enduring strength. Paul is not praying for temporary relief or emotional motivation, but for an inward strengthening that enables believers to stand, endure, and walk faithfully. The phrase “inner self” (or inner man) refers to the hidden, spiritual core of a person—the place where faith, conscience, and the Holy Spirit dwell. Paul’s prayer reveals that God strengthens the person before He changes the situation. This is strength imparted by the Holy Spirit, not produced by human effort. There is One true God, the Creator of all things, revealed in three persons: God the Father, God the Son, and God the Holy Spirit. There is One God and One Spirit Who has redeemed us all. I am Mathew Sekanjako, a believer in Christ Jesus (Yeshua HaMashiach), the one Son of God. I serve and confess God the Father, God the Son, and God the Holy Spirit. This intercession is offered in faith, in obedience, and in love, for all who will listen.
