Strengths & Weaknesses

from FBC Platte City · host FBC Platte City

Paul greeted them and reported in detail what God had done among the Gentiles through his ministry. When they heard this, they praised God. Acts 21:19-20 In the book of Acts, Jesus says that we are to be His “witnesses” – meaning believers are to make the invisible kingdom of God visible to our communities and around the world (Acts 1:8). And while this may seem like a daunting task, we begin to see this take place in Acts through gifted men and women who do amazing works of ministry. But while these acts are impressive, if we are not careful, we can think that this gifting only applies to a select few – both then and now. But what we find repeatedly in the book of Acts, particularly with the ministry of the apostle Paul, is that he was working to establish churches to be these “witnesses.” And the way that these churches, and our church, are to fulfill this mission is through the diversity of gifts that God has given to us. In this message we will be looking at what it means that each of us is uniquely gifted, and have a specific role to play in the life of our church. I would encourage you to read Romans 12:3-8, along with reading from Acts 19:21 through the end of Acts. Jason
