Stretching Ourselves Beyond Our Comfort Zone & the Familiar Into Growth

from Raw Conversations with Corinne Blum · host Corinne Blum

It’s all too easy to get cushy and comfy in routine and predictability. The familiar feels safe. But growth happens in the unfamiliar and the unknown. It happens when we stretch our metaphoric skin and take risks in life. Change takes courage. Being human, takes courage. But if we want growth, if we want to feel enlivened, if we want to create positive change in our lives, we’re going to have to get uncomfortable. Courage always arises in the face of fear. Change, whether external or internal, will scare us. Our very identity gets rattled and reality bends itself into a new perspective. The work is knowing that no matter what, we’ll be there for ourselves. The wisdom is knowing that when we step off the ledge, we will sprout wings. We’re learning to fly. To be free of our own limitations. So take courage, be brave and dive into life knowing that when you get uncomfortable, you will grow and reach new heights.
