Industrial action at the Port of Broome is threatening cruise turnarounds on Western Australia's Kimberley coast, with the action window running August 7 to 22 and covering calls by Ponant's Le Jacques Cartier and Le Soleal and by Seabourn Pursuit, as the Maritime Union of Australia and the Kimberley Ports Authority head to a Fair Work Commission conciliation conference after nearly a year of bargaining over regional allowances and time off in lieu. In China, Tianjin Oriental has paused Dream's regular sailings to run port-based staycations, with an eleven-day stay at Dalian Port from August 7 to 17 priced from 699 RMB per guest per night for an oceanview cabin, followed by a stop in Qingdao through September 1 and a scheduled return to Shanghai on September 3. And Portsmouth International Port has completed its first commercial cruise shore-power connection, plugging in Virgin Voyages' Valiant Lady and Brittany Ferries' Guillaume de Normandie at the same time, with three simultaneous connections expected later in 2026 as the port works toward zero-emission status by 2050.
