Strolling Strasburg: Sammy Lou's Bake Shop / Cherry On Top Boutique

Today's Strolling Strasburg conversation with Olivia Hilton, Director of Strategic Initiatives for the Town of Strasburg took us down King Street to chat with two brand new businesses: Sammy Lou's Bake Shop & Cherry On Top Boutique. We started at Nancy's Coffee Bar for fuel/caffeine and headed to Sammy Lou's Bake Shop to talk with Sam Tierpack. Sam gave us some history about her love of baking and told us how the shop came to fruition. She talked of the strong family support she has and the family recipes she uses. The bakery offers a wide variety of sweets such as cheesecakes, brownies, cookies, tea breads, muffins, whoopie pies, bonbons, and cinnamon rolls. She accepts special orders and encourages customers to order ahead for large orders. Sammy Lou's Bake Shop is located at 150 E. King Street, Strasburg. They are open Mondays/Thursdays/Fridays from 7am - 5pm, on Saturdays from 9am - 5pm, and Sundays from 9am - 2pm. Our next stop was to chat with Johanna Pearson, owner of Cherry On Top Boutique. Johanna was a guest on the show a year ago where she told us that her 5-year plan included opening a storefront. She started the business in a refurbished camper that she still takes to craft shows and local events. She explained how her 5-year plan became a one-year plan and talked about the variety of clothing & accessories she offers in a wide range of styles and sizes. Cherry On Top Boutique is located at 132 E. King Street, Strasburg. They are open Wednesday - Saturday from Noon til 6pm, and Sundays 1pm - 4pm.
