Strolling Strasburg: Strasburg Pharmacy & Harvest Festival

We recorded our Strolling Strasburg conversation with Olivia Hilton, Director of Strategic Initiatives for the town of Strasburg at the Strasburg Visitors Center. We had two different guests to get a peek into the many faces of Strasburg. In the first segment, we talked with Naresh Boini, owner & pharmacist at Strasburg Pharmacy. He told us why he chose Strasburg to open his independent pharmacy and explained how important they are to small communities. We talked about the different services he offers such as prescription delivery, flu shots, COVID vaccines, and more. In the second segment, Sam Haines joined us to talk about Melted Dreams Cafe - a food truck that offers a huge menu of items from grilled cheese to ice cream & smoothies. They will be the featured food vendor at the 5th Annual Harvest Festival happening on Saturday, September 17, 2022 from 10am - 3pm. Olivia gave us all the details about the event. The Town of Strasburg, in partnership with the Lord Fairfax Soil & Water Conservation District, the Strasburg Community Garden and the Strasburg Farmers Market host the event to celebrate the garden harvest. The event will feature local artisan fares, edible goodies and produce from the Strasburg Farmer's Market, which will be at the TOWN PARK for the day.   Attendees can participate in an old fashioned cake walk fundraiser for the Strasburg Community Garden with cakes made by members of the local community. A "Fill-the-Farm-Truck Food Drive" will also take place throughout the week at the market pavilion. The community is encouraged to bring a bag of non-perishable food items to contribute to a food drive.   There will be live music from 10:30am - 1:30pm by Charlee Allman & Jon France.
