Strong Dads - Are You Honoring Your Parents? - Episode 174

The 5th commandment says that we should honor our mother and father.  This sounds like common sense when we are talking about little kids still in the house.  But what about when we are adults?  Do we still strive to honor our parents when we are out or their house and even raising our own family?  Whether we continue to honor our parents or not has significant implications for our society.  We have seen in recent decades the decline of respect for our elderly.  We cast them off to nursing homes or even leave them to be on their own.  We become so busy on our lives that we neglect to include them in ours.  But, guess who is watching? Our children, God, and Satan.  What do you think the implications are going to be from this?  Our children learn from us and are likely to repeat what they have been taught. Our God has given us the nature by which we can choose to live well or not, but he has clearly given us the way forward.Satan, being anti-God, is working hard to turn us away from God's way and quickly to his way, which is the way of lies and deception. The ways of selfishness and narcissistic behaviors that lead to destruction of self and society.  Honoring your parents is not just a good thing to do.
