Last week, and for the first time, we had a conversation with a sociologist. And I must say that, looking at concepts such as #feminist movements, #urbansafety, and #care from her point of view was extremely interesting! . Anna Bednarczyk is a sociologist and researcher. She is currently a research fellow at the K LAB at the Technical University in Berlin. She works on a PhD project about feminist movements, urban safety, and care work in Argentina at the Graduate School for Social Research in Warsaw. She holds a MA in Sociology from Jagiellonian University, Poland, and in Sustainable Urban Governance and Peace from the University for Peace, Costa Rica. After conducting research on urban justice in Medellín she started working on various projects advocating for strengthening participatory urban governance in Poland. She moves between formal and informal organizations and activities. She was a project manager in the International Visegrad Fund, a senior researcher in the project on the holistic model of girls’ empowerment, and currently, she cooperates with non-governmental organizations CISCSA Feminist Cities and Red de Mujer y Habitat on integrating age and gender perspective in urban agendas. Apart from researching and coordinating projects, she experiments with moviemaking. She co-produced and co-directed with Inga Hajdarowicz a documentary La Comuna 9.
