The Enterprise searches for the mythical planet of Aldea, and soon regrets finding it when its inhabitants kidnap several pieces of the ship’s most precious cargo--the children. It seems that the Aldeans live a blissful life of contemplation and art, but for some reason unknown to them, they can’t bear children. The Aldeans propose a charitable donation of kids on behalf of the Enterprise crew, and when they are rebuffed, decide to steal them instead. Picard and crew are thwarted from retrieving the kids by an seemingly impenetrable force field around the planet, and to make matters worse, the Aldeans are able to send the Enterprise careening light years away from their planet. While the ship makes its way back to Aldea, Wesley organizes the kidnapped kids in a strike, refusing food and cooperation and demanding their freedom. Picard and a pack or perturbed parents are on the way to try and retrieve their offspring, but will they be able to get through the Aldean force field? Will Wesley be successful as a strike boss? Can Beverly discover what’s up with the lack of Aldean babies?
