Stu Sheep

from Big Pete podcast

Joining us is one of the presenters and demonstrators from the famous Sheep Show, which appears at nearly every agricultural show throughout the UK.Stu tells us about his incredible journey from New Zealand, where he grew up working with animals, learning to break horses and train dogs, to rodeo riding in Canada. He then found himself working at a popular petting farm in England during the summer months in the early 1990s. We discuss how the Sheep Show came about, how he was headhunted to become part of it, and how he and Richard, the show's original creator, developed it into the iconic attraction it is today as they toured the UK each summer. We also talk about horse whispering, understanding dogs, and where Stu's adventures have taken him—including the time he found himself with gorillas on one side and guerrillas pointing AK-47s at him on the other, all because he wanted to see gorillas!
