Stuck In A Hard Season? Why God Hasn't Rescued You Yet
from Daily Hope with Pastor John S. Dickerson · host John S. Dickerson
If you feel stuck in a hard season, a painful marriage, a job you hate, a hospital room, a broken family, you've probably asked God why He hasn't rescued you out of it yet. In today's Daily Hope, Pastor John S. Dickerson unpacks a short phrase the apostle Paul wrote from an actual prison cell. In Ephesians 6:20, Paul calls himself "an ambassador in chains" and asks believers to pray for him, not that his chains would break, but that he would boldly share the good news of Jesus right where he was. Paul saw something the Roman guards chained to him could not see: he was in that cell so he could bring them to Christ before it was too late. Pastor John also walks through the story of Elijah from James chapter five, who prayed for three and a half years of famine so that God's people would turn back to Him, then prayed again in faith until the rain finally came. What if the hard place you're in right now, the hospital, the dysfunctional family, the job you can't stand, isn't a mistake? What if God has stationed you there as His ambassador, for the sake of someone only you can reach?
