Student Report: GSU Protests at NLRB

from The Chicago Maroon

On December 16th the NLRB will close a comment period on a proposed regulation to exempt graduate students preforming work for compensation from the definition of an employee. Graduate student workers from the University of Chicago, Northwestern University and Loyola University marched in front of the NLRB's Chicago office to protest the exemption and make their voices heard in hopes to inhibit a possible vote on the measure. An earlier version of this description incorrectly stated an NLRB vote was to be held on December 16th. The description above has since been edited to reflect the accurate information. Hosted by: Austin Christhilf Featuring: Alexis Florence, Graduate students from Loyola University, Northwestern University, University of Chicago Edited by: Austin Christhilf
