Student Series: Amy Thwaites' winding path to the supreme privilege of becoming a doctor

Growing up with a GP mother as her role model, studying medicine could have seemed like an obvious choice for Amy Thwaites. But it didn’t cross her mind.  A career in performing arts took preference, followed by nursing and then, when Amy finally turned to medicine, an application mishap almost upset the grand plan.
