Student Series: Dr Yvonne Chang — from Agriculture to Medicine, a researched route

from Destination Medicine Podcast · host Regional Training Hubs

Dr Yvonne Chang’s journey to medicine wasn’t a direct one, but her travel experiences while studying agricultural research certainly cemented her wishes to work in regional and rural Australia. After consulting with an important mentor and friends who were already studying medicine, she decided that a life in the lab wasn’t for her. Yvonne craved greater personal interactions as well as helping people. So, after a very helpful year working in hospital administration, she finally took the plunge and entered post-graduate medical school, loving the rural placements she went to, including a year in Broken Hill where she was embraced by the community both inside and outside the local hospital.See omnystudio.com/listener for privacy information.
