Studio Stories: Reminiscing on Twin Cities Dance with Eva Mohn - Season 8, Episode 101

Eva Mohn works as a dancer and composer, straddling the USA andEurope. Eva originally comes from Minneapolis, MN. She was amember of a Minneapolis based dance company TU Dance from 2002-2009. She moved to New York in 2008 to work with Germanchoreographer Johannes Wieland. In 2009 she moved to Kassel,Germany to continue that working relationship with Wieland. In2012 she moved to Stockholm, Sweden and began working withCullberg. During her time there she worked with Tillman O’Donnel,Jefta Van Dinther, Alma Söderberg, Edward Lock, Benoit Lachambre,Eszter Solomon, and Deborah Hay. She currently continues to workwith Cullberg and is based both in Stockholm and Minneapolis. In2021 she received her Masters in Choreography and New PerformativePractices from Stockholm University for the Arts. In the fall of2022 she will begin a project with Tilman O’Donnel in Stockholmwith a premier in March 2023. She is also currently working on adance research performance project with Morgan Thorson for apremier at the Great Northern Festival in winter 2024.Eva is a student and practitioner of Cranial Sacral Therapy, andhas completed a study and certification in Yoga with RichardFreeman in Boulder, Colorado. She has spent chapters of herworking life as a baker, house painter, and during the 2020pandemic she worked as a farm manager for a small scale organicsheep farm in Minnesota. In January 2021 she became a mother. Hercurrent artistic practice is one of interplay and conflationbetween dancing, mothering, laboring, caregiving, inter-speciesrelationships, and the physical inquiries of dancing, recreatingand playing.
