Özgenur Kara Balcı, completed her bachelor’s degree at Ankara University Faculty of Law in 2015, was granted an LLM degree at Ankara University Graduate School of Social Sciences with her LLM thesis entitled “Financial Leasing of Ships in Maritime Law” and she is currently a Ph.D. candidate at Ankara University Graduate School of Social Sciences. During her LLM studies, Ms. Kara Balcı has been in Germany with the Erasmus+ Program at University of Mannheim School of Law and Economics. She is working as a research assistant at Ankara University Faculty of Law Maritime Law Department since 2018 and as a researcher at Ankara University National Center for the Sea and Maritime Law (DEHUKAM) since 2021. Currently, she is conducting her Ph.D. research at Tulane University Law School in the U.S. as a visiting scholar with a scholarship from the Scientific and Technological Research Council of Türkiye (TÜBİTAK).
