It's a stunning shake-up in the Justice Department. Three top federal prosecutors resigned after refusing to drop corruption charges against New York City Mayor Eric Adams. The acting U.S. attorney in Manhattan, Danielle Sassoon, and two senior prosecutors in Washington stepped down after the Justice Department, under the Trump administration, ordered them to dismiss the case. At the center of the controversy--allegations that Adams, a former police captain, and the city's second Black mayor, took illegal campaign contributions and bribes from foreign nationals.  The DOJ says keeping the case alive would interfere with Adams' ability to tackle crime and immigration issues.
