SUBMIT TO GOD and RESIST THE DEVIL: He is KING OVER ALL THE CHILDREN OF PRIDE

I’ve met a lot of people lately who identify as Christians, but don’t think they need to go to church to be right with God.   Of COURSE you don’t have to go to church to be SAVED. The thief on the cross teaches us this much, and we know that SALVATION is through FAITH ALONE in Jesus’s payment for our sins through His death and resurrection.   But the Bible shows us WHAT a SAVED PERSON LOOKS like, and that person is GROWING in faith and knowledge of Jesus. They have a PLACE in the church, and are not to FORSAKE the ASSEMBLY together, as is the custom of some. And FELLOWSHIP throughout the Bible is for BUILDING UP one another, holding each other accountable, and for Healthy Reproduction and Discipleship of believers in the WORD of God, and so on…   And so we need to be careful NOT to FALL for SATAN’s rational and make unbiblical choices, or COMPROMISES, in clear doctrines of the church. Many Prophecies warned in the last days DOCTRINES of DEMONS would creep in.   And we can fall for all kinds of deceptions if we are not plugged into a GOOD, BIBLICAL church, that TRUSTS and studies the ENTIRE BIBLE. And as we have been reading, Jesus GAVE HIMSELF to create the TRUE church as ONE BRIDE from EVERY NATION and TONGUE for His glory.   We need to be careful not to follow our OWN REASONING. Satan knows how to feed our Fears, our Suspicions, our Personal Desires, and our PRIDE. But it’s a TRAP to keep us from fulfilling our Assignments! As Rev 3:11 warns, “Behold I come quickly. HOLD FAST that no one may take your crown!”   Last week we looked at the first verses of REV 20, where Satan in finally restrained for a season.   And so Satan is BOUND for 1,000 years, which is the term of Jesus’s Millennial reign on the earth. We read already in REV ch 12 this same description of Satan, our ADVERSARY.   Up until this moment, Satan was permitted to come before the throne of God, to ACCUSE God’s faithful of their sins, and to submit INDICTMENTS against them for eternal judgment. We see this in 2 Old Testament books, beginning with Job.   Notice the terms used are making a legal argument, as Job feels helpless before God to plead His case, knowing that God is HOLY and righteous, yet DISCOURAGED and Confused by His trial at the hands of Satan.
