Success, Purpose & Values

September is National Suicide Awareness Month What is Purpose? Better yet, what is YOUR purpose? 1. Misconception about purpose & work having to coincide. Purpose doesn’t always have to be some huge, great thing, that everyone acknowledges you for. 2. Purpose is your WHY. At the end of it all, why do you do what you do? What do you do it for? Who do you do it for? 3. Purpose can change, but it more than likely has to do with helping others in some way and you can achieve your purpose every day in small acts. What are your Values? 1. Values are basic and fundamental beliefs that guide or motivate attitudes or actions. 2. What do you believe in and how does that drive you? My values are family, happiness & kindness. What is Success? (Through the world’s lens & through your own) 1. First you have to find out what you believe success is and then identify whether that’s your belief or the world’s (society,parents,friends) 2. Once you figure out that maybe your idea of success wasn’t yours after all, you have to dig deeper and find out what success means to you? I’m not here to give you the answer, but i’m here to give you insight on how to find out what it means. 3. The simple fact of the matter is success = happiness. What makes you happy? If you didn’t have any responsibilities in this world, what would you do that makes you happy? Figuring that out and going after it even though you have LIFE responsibilities truly is success. Bonus tip, even just TRYING to go after it = success. “Success means having the courage, the determination, and the will to become the person you believe you were meant to be.” Purpose, Values & Success are all related and intertwined and help you determine what will drive your life Why you need to understand what these things are and what they are for you before you make any changes in your life or leap to go after anything. They will be the core of why you do what you do, your driving force.
