June 12, 2025 Daily Devotion: "Success through Obedience and Courage"1 Chronicles 22:13 New Living Translation 13 For you will be successful if you carefully obey the decrees and regulations that the Lord gave to Israel through Moses. Be strong and courageous; do not be afraid or lose heart! What represents a courageous act for one person may not look the least bit daunting to the next, and vice versa. For example, Jane Doe enjoys public speaking, while John Doe isnauseated at the thought. When God calls John to change careers, he's thrilled, but Jane, who likes predictability, has to summon a great deal of courage to say, Yes, Lord. God calls His children to leaps of faith, and in the same breath He says, “Be strong and courageous” (Joshua1:6). The passionate Christian won't be satisfied unless he's following God in a way that requires courage; that's what we're all built for, and anything less will eventually make usrestless. Each new challenge from God calls us to new heights and reminds us that the Christian life isn't for cowards. And each challenge is cause for great joy: what an honor to be called by the Lord!
