SUCCESSFUL BUSINESS MANAGEMENT: DANIEL GOOD | The Top Contractor Podcast - EP 4

from The Top Contractor Podcast

In this episode, "The Secrets to Successful Business Management w/ Daniel Good" hosted by Bill Reiman and Nate Swink, guest Daniel Good shares his experience of managing multiple businesses and the lessons he has learned from it. Daniel explains that it is not as glamorous as it sounds and that it is impossible to devote yourself to several different businesses at once. He admits that he made mistakes in the past, such as not having a leader or mentor to guide him, and that he was "winging it" without really understanding the nuts and bolts of the businesses. "My father passed away when I was 26, and I had to take on the role of leader at a young age. I had picked up both the good and bad habits from my father, and I had to learn the importance of true leadership," Daniel reflects. He eventually realized that true success was not about material possessions, but about creating a team effort and giving people the opportunity to be heard. Daniel had to tear down his business and rebuild it from the ground up, as it was operating with an old-school iron fist mentality. He had to get rid of the stuff, the people, and the leadership, and create new standards and expectations. Daniel also joined Top Contractor School (TCS) and learned how to fix himself. He shares how the organization has helped him to have meaningful relationships and to push away relationships that weren't aligned with his vision and goals. Daniel emphasizes the importance of having a leader or mentor to guide you, and encourages the audience to listen to the podcast to learn more about his story. "True success is not about material possessions, but about creating a team effort and giving people the opportunity to be heard. Leadership is not about being abrasive, but about creating a sense of trust and respect." The episode ends with the hosts and guest emphasizing the importance of joining the organization if you want to make a change and be surrounded by winners.
