Successful root canal treatment

Today I had to go to the dentist for a constant niggling tooth pain. An xray revealed the need for root canal treatment and the dentist reckoned he could release some of the pain but that I would still need to see a specialist endodontist to complete the treatment. I sat in the dental chair and inwardly prayed, whilst sensing the prayer support of those I had asked to pray beforehand. To the dentist's utter surprise he found that he was able to do the whole procedure and said that I was "a little bit lucky" and then throughout the lengthy procedure, he was proclaiming, "good", "very good", "excellent". When I could speak at last, with the absence of dental tubes etc in my mouth (!), I declared that I was not "a little lucky" but very blessed by his skills. He modestly did not want to take any praise and/or did not want to acknowledge God in the picture, but God had surely blessed me and anointed this unbelieving dentist with wonderful skills. God wants us to believe Him for the best and to declare it confidently, even if it is just to ourselves."The tongue has the power of life and death, and those who love it will eat its fruit" (Proverbs 18:25). To know God's promises and to be able to declare them confidently we need to spend time with Him. How? God sent His son Jesus down to earth to show us the way. Whoever seeks will find (see Matthew 7:7).
